It’s official, We’ve gone international!

How exciting is this?!?!? I have to give a little Woot Woot!  An international, German Cooking Magazine, Lisa Kochen and Backen has featured one of our photos in their latest edition. This is especially close to my heart because it featured a photo from a bridal shower that I threw from my sister-in-law a couple of years ago. You can view the complete gallery of photos here: Under the Tuscan Sun Bridal Shower

Our photo is the one in the center of the article and was taken by the lovely, Christine Haws Photography

Design Tip-How to clean your candle containers

I recently threw a dinner party at my house  for some close friends that I haven’t had the chance to see in quite some time. As I was thinking about how to decorate the table, I decided I would use all of the containers that I already owned and not purchase anything new. Taking that into consideration, I knew I had some cleaning to do… Now if your candle holders look like these, then you’re probably wondering what to do to make them brand spanking clean again.

Well have no fear… here is my tip (thanks to Martha Stewart) that I’ve been using  for years now and it really works. ;)

Place your candle/candle holder in your freezer upside down. Please note that some candles will loosen up quicker than others, so give yourself a couple of days to work on this project and monitor it each day. Once the candle feels loose or that it’s fallen to the bottom, it’s time to take it out of the freezer.  Once you take it out of the freezer, let it get to room temperature. Then get a pot of boiling water ready and pour some into your container to get all of the access wax out. Let it sit for about a minute or two and then pour out the water/access wax. Then dry it off with a cloth or paper towel. And vuala a perfectly clean container ready to be used with a new candle!

Now before you go and have to do this process all over again, place a little bit of water at the bottom of your candle holder and then place the candle inside. This will help the wax not stick to the bottom of the vase as much.

Hope this helps!
